A little bit about the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist looking to make a meaningful impact. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex environments and can navigate complex and sensitive matters with confidence.

The role will:

  • Provide timely, best practice advice and support on complex case management including grievances, misconduct, performance issues and highly sensitive workplace matters.
  • Support and conduct workplace investigations and recommend actions using appropriate methodologies.
  • Represent the organisation in interactions with industrial bodies including the Fair Work Commission, Equal Opportunity Commission and other regulatory bodies.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and review of ER/IR policies, procedures, frameworks, and systems to ensure compliance and contemporary practice.
  • Equip and empower leaders through the development and delivery of tools, training and capability building initiatives.
  • Utilise data and analytics to identify trends and create solutions that strengthen organisational culture and performance.
  • Support the Case Management team during high volume periods.

What will you bring:

  • Post graduate qualification in Law, Human Resources Management, Industrial and/or Employee Relations or a related field.
  • Accreditation or certification in workplace investigations, mediation is highly desirable.
  • Experience in leading complex, sensitive or litigious ER/IR cases across a variety of industries.
  • Strong experience handling legal matters and drafting responses for legal and regulatory bodies, including the Fair Work Commission.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws such as the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, and Modern Award System.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and maintaining ER-related policies, procedures, guidelines, toolkits and resources that support both compliance and culture.
